Prevention tip of the week
It is important that children have someone that they can trust and go to for support. Children are more likely to share what's going on in their lives with a trusted adult.
If you are a trusted adult, make sure to listen respectfully, offer a safe space, and help them navigate difficult situations.

You can encourage a child to trust their gut feeling by:
- Reassuring them they won't get in trouble for sharing uncomfortable feelings.
- Practicing βwhat ifβ situations
These practices can help a child feel comfortable to express themselves and can help promote safety for the child as well!
