EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Firefighters will limit response to the Woodlawn Fire in McCormick County on Monday due to increased hazards from the incoming severe weather.
The U.S. Forest Service said the fire held within control lines throughout Sunday night into Monday morning.
Operations will resume when conditions improve.
Firefighters plan to burn interior fuel pockets and continue mastication to reduce hazardous fuels around the 632-acre perimeter of the fire, according to officials.

Augusta has outdoor warning sirens located in several areas of the community, including the McBean Community, May Park, Diamond Lakes and the Warren Road area.
Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who may be outdoors when severe weather threatens the area. In many cases, the sirens may also be heard indoors, depending on location and conditions.

Latest update from Augusta Univeristy
With all in-person classes and all Augusta University offices shifting to remote instruction and operations Monday, here are the latest updates.
Residence halls will stay open. Housing will share transportation and dining details. Atrium Dining is open, but dinner service ends at 8 p.m.
Student-support buildings (Greenblatt Library, Reese Library, the Rec Center, and the Jaguar Student Activities Center) will be closed Monday.
Shuttle updates will be posted on PassioGo (website and app).

The ceremony celebrating the reopening of the Augusta Municipal Golf Course, known as The Patch, has been rescheduled.
Due to forecasted storms, the ceremony has been rescheduled for Thursday at noon.

According to Georgia Power’s outage map, nearly 800 people are without power in Grovetown. Restoration time is around 10:15 a.m.
Nearly 300 people are without power in Harlem.

The Trump administration is dramatically expanding an effort to revoke U.S. citizenship for foreign-born Americans as it works to curb immigration, according to two people familiar with the plans. Over the past several months, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the agency within the Department of Homeland Security that’s responsible for legal immigration, has been sending experts to its offices around the country or reassigning staff members to focus on whether some citizens processed through those offices could now be denaturalized, these people said.

Boston resident Maureen Dahill knows how far people will go to save a public parking spot after a snowstorm.
"People get so crazy because it takes so long to shovel out your car," Dahill says, so they use random items as placeholders.
