Hi friends! I wanted to "pop" in and share a logo I created with some friends for an exciting, new, bubbly business based here in Atlanta. This logo was as fun to create as the business itself will be. Thanks for letting me work on this venture with you ✨🙌

New logo alert 🚨!
This logo concept was designed for the lovely interior design team Heaton + Williams based in the Bay Area.
When working with them on their logo development, I noticed that their work blended organic, natural lines and textures perfectly with clean, straight, and modern lines. So naturally, it makes perfect sense to create their logo with that same balance.
What do you think?

I have had a decade's long obsession with Dieter Rams, the industrial designer know for most of Braun's appliance designs. If you saw my story yesterday, you'll know he's my #1 design hero. I run my business and my life by his 10 principles of good design (designers, learn those and live and die by them), and love his concept of less is more. But nothing beats the concept behind this quote though, both in design and in life. This is perhaps my most favorite quote of all time, and there's proof–I even painted it on a sign circa 2014 at Burning Man.
If we always accept things the way they are without question, then we can never grow, be innovative, and push boundaries to create things we never knew were possible!

What do you think of when you hear the word brand?
I often hear people say it's your logo or your website. Sure, these are pieces of your overall brand, but your brand is so much more than that. Your brand is your story.
Effective branding is essentially storytelling. Not only visual storytelling, but storytelling through your brand voice and messaging.
David Brier gets it right when he says "If you don't give the market a story to talk about, they'll define your brand's story for you." By building an effective brand, you get to decide your story, not your consumer.
Be the author of your own unique brand story!

I love this interview with Sallie Krawcheck of Ellevest. The power of branding even influences some of the gender and diversity issues we are struggling with in today's society. Have a listen and let me know what you think.
I've been using Ellevest for a while now and love knowing my money is being invested in women-owned businesses.
Sallie Krawcheck on The Daily Show: Bulls, Beers, Bees, and Bias | Ellevest Ellevest CEO Sallie Krawcheck went on “The Daily Show” to talk about investing, anatomically correct bulls, standing up for women at work, bias, and beer.

Ok ya'll, it only took me about 6 months, but I finally added a project to my portfolio! Aren't you proud? Finding time to update my portfolio can be tough when I'm busy creating brands for clients, but I've made a goal to get it completely updated this quarter. Here's one of my favorite projects that was completed over the summer. Yes, I'm embarrassed it took me this long to get it up online, but oh well.

The Clarity Group is a therapy practice based in Denver, Colorado and was a dream to work on. Whitney, the owner, says: "Callie is truly gifted in the art of listening. She could hear through my clumsy design wording and inspiration, to cultivate a vision and heartbeat to our group. She brings meaning and depth to everything she touches. Our design is not only beautiful, but it is profound in its ability to communicate the heart we have for the work we do. Callie is a truly talented storyteller that has brought our counseling group into the future. We can now communicate the dedication and passion we have for our clients through her excellence in design."
