๐จ This is not a normal extension cord!
The CPSC just issued an urgent safety warning about male-to-male extension cords sold on AliExpress โ and if you've ever bought one to connect a generator during a power outage, you need to read this.

Here's what makes a male-to-male extension cord different from every other cord in your home:
๐ด Both ends have exposed prongs
๐ด When one end is plugged in, the other end is fully energized at 120V
๐ด Touch it and you can be electrocuted โ instantly
But the danger doesn't stop at the cord itself.
Backfeeding: The hidden killer
Consumers buy these cords to plug a generator into a wall outlet during a power outage, hoping to power their home. This is called "backfeeding" โ and it can kill people who aren't even in your house.
โก Current flows backward through your panel and OUT to the power lines
โก Utility workers repairing lines can be electrocuted without warning
โก Your home's wiring isn't designed for reverse load โ fire risk is immediate
โก The cord's short length (often just 24 inches) means the generator ends up in your garage, where carbon monoxide builds up fast
The manufacturer of these specific cords โ Ganjiang New District Yuslow Toys Sales Co. Ltd. of China โ has been completely unresponsive to the CPSC. No recall. No cooperation. Just silence.
That means you're on your own.
๐ Without RecallSentry: Never saw the warning. Cord's still in the garage. Storm rolls in. You plug it in.
โ
With RecallSentry: "Got the alert. Threw it away. Bought a transfer switch instead."
What you should do:
๐ซ Stop using ANY male-to-male extension cord โ immediately
๐๏ธ Dispose of it safely (do NOT touch the prongs if one end is plugged in)
๐ง If you use a generator, install a transfer switch โ it's the only safe connection method
TAG someone who uses a portable generator. This warning could save their life โ or a utility worker's.

๐จ Homeowners: Check behind your stove, dryer, and water heater right now.
Nearly 200,000 gas connectors were just recalled due to a manufacturing defect โ and a gas leak inside your home is not something you want to discover the hard way.

The CPSC just recalled DuraTrac stainless steel gas connectors sold at Ace Hardware, Blake's Inc., and Merritt's Hardware stores from May through November 2025.
๐ง Look for a yellow label with "DuraTrac" and "Made in Thailand"
๐ง Check the flare nut for CSA file number "259973"
๐ง Check the date code engraved on the nut: 24D, 25A, 25B, or 25C
If yours matches โ that connector is recalled and should be replaced immediately.
Here's why this matters more than a typical recall:
Gas connectors are hidden. They sit behind your stove, behind your dryer, behind your water heater โ completely out of sight. You wouldn't know one was leaking until you smelled something, or worse, until there was a spark.
Natural gas is flammable at concentrations as low as 5% in air.
A slow leak in a closed cabinet or utility room can reach that concentration without anyone in the home noticing.
DuraTrac has confirmed a manufacturing defect in these connectors that can cause exactly that โ a gas leak with no visible damage and no external warning.
๐ Without RecallSentry: No idea a recall even happened. Connector still installed.
โ
With RecallSentry: "Checked it. My date code matches. Calling a plumber today."
If yours is recalled:

The CPSC just recalled six models of Nexgrill metal wire bristle grill brushes sold at Home Depot from 2015 through 2026.
๐ชฅ Model 530-0024 โ 19-Inch Grill Brush
๐ชฅ Model 530-0024G โ Grill Brush with Scraper
๐ชฅ Model 530-0034 โ Long Handle Grill Brush
๐ชฅ Model 530-0039 โ Grill Brush and Scraper
๐ชฅ Model 530-0041 โ Grill Brush with Scrub Pad
๐ชฅ Model 530-0042 โ Wood Handle Grill Brush
If you bought a Nexgrill brush at Home Depot โ any year from 2015 onward โ you may own one.
Here's why this matters more than a typical recall:
Wire bristles break off the brush, stick invisibly to your grill grates, and transfer directly onto food. You don't taste them. You don't see them. You don't know until someone is in the ER.
Nexgrill has already received 68 reports of detached bristles โ including 5 consumers who swallowed metal wires and needed medical treatment to remove them from their throats or digestive tract.
And these brushes have been on the shelf since 2015.
๐ Without RecallSentry: Trying to remember where you bought it, digging for the model number, not sure if yours is the one.

The CPSC just issued an emergency warning to immediately stop using Ridstar Q20 and Q20 Pro e-bikes โ sold on Amazon, Walmart, and Ridstar.net.
The manufacturer, Huizhou Xingqishi Sporting Goods Co., Ltd. of China, refused to agree to a recall.
Read that again.
The CPSC asked for a recall. The company said no. So the CPSC went directly to the public.
Here's what's already happened:
๐ฅ 11 reports of fire
๐ฅ 1 burn injury
๐ฎโ๐จ 5 reports of smoke inhalation
๐ 2 reports of property damage โ totaling over $40,000
And that's before you understand what makes a lithium-ion battery fire different from a regular fire:
It can ignite spontaneously. It burns at temperatures that melt metal. It can reignite after you think it's out. And it can happen while you're sleeping 10 feet away.
Here's what NOT to do with the battery:
๐ซ Do NOT throw it in the trash
๐ซ Do NOT put it in curbside recycling
๐ซ Do NOT drop it in a retail battery collection box
Defective lithium-ion batteries require household hazardous waste (HHW) disposal. Call your local HHW center first โ not all accept defective cells.
๐ Without RecallSentry: Searching Google, reading through government PDFs, still not sure if your model is affected.
โ
With RecallSentry: "Searched it. It's the Q20. Battery is already out."

The CPSC just recalled Goregent infant walkers (Model No. 901 / SKU GEBA030AGXP) โ about 90 units sold on Amazon in January 2026 for around $90.
The reason? These walkers can fit through a standard doorway and fail to stop at the edge of a step.
That means a baby in this walker can roll straight down a staircase before a parent can react.
Here's the part that should concern every parent:
The CPSC's mandatory safety standard for infant walkers exists for exactly this reason. Compliant walkers must either be too wide to pass through a doorway OR have a braking mechanism that activates at a step edge. This walker fails both tests.
The American Academy of Pediatrics reports that infants in walkers can move up to 4 feet per second โ faster than most caregivers can physically respond.
๐ Without RecallSentry: Digging through Amazon orders, googling model numbers, hoping you got the right one.

โ ๏ธ Did you know a button-sized battery can cause severe internal burns in under 2 hours?
Button cell batteries are hiding in more household products than you think โ light-up tumblers, toys, greeting cards, and more. When these products break or are recalled, young children can access the batteries and the results can be life-threatening.
The CPSC has recalled thousands of consumer products over button cell battery hazards โ and the refund process shouldn't be complicated.
