Welcome Everyone
Small drywall patches. Here’s two good options. Metal repair patch vs. California patch. And here’s what you need to know.
I’m gearing up for a few weeks of tutorials. Planning to touch on the basics of drywall hanging, taping and finishing. Pre-hung door installation and trim. Baseboard. A few more lessons on crown molding. Locating studs in a finished wall for TV brackets or other shelving. Testing some hollow wall anchors. Maybe floating shelf installation. And possibly some lessons on chair rail, panel moldings, and other wood trim details. So if that’s of interest to you stick around. 👊
Starting with the drywall BASICS. If you’re an experienced tradesman just keep scrolling. These first few videos are meant for the real beginners. These two cuts are going to be necessary for pretty much every drywall project. Watch your fingers when you’re slicing sheets with the T-square. I’ve seen more than one person cut themselves pretty badly like that.
Basics of hanging drywall. And the simplest way to cut out for electrical boxes. Again, this is aimed at DIY’ers and young tradespeople.
A little more information about hanging drywall. And showing another way to cut drywall around electrical boxes.
A few more pointers for hanging drywall. The less you have to pull out your tape the better. And minimizing places for cracks to occur around door and window openings is key. Also keep in mind which way you’re routing out around electrical boxes and rough openings. The first time you forget you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Hope this helps.

Here I’m installing a ledger board for a future deck/landing, so I can flash it properly, so I can trim the door, so I can flash the trim, so I can finish the siding. Make sense?? 😂 anyway, a more detailed explanation of what went on with the ledger installation/flashing is saved in a story highlight “Master Suite 3” in case you want to hear the narration. ** that ledger flashing is galvanized steel, not aluminum.** Last clip shows the hardie siding primed and ready for vertical batten installation.
This is what I do.
