This little girl stole my heart. I adore ALL of the animals that I am blessed enough to work with but, I don’t know of any other horse that has touched my spirit in the way that this one has. I cried on her the day that I left my shoot. Her name is Dixie.

What an amazing day today! This is “Dixie” my new bestie. What a sweet girl. We had the best day together today. I feel sorry for anyone that has never gotten the chance to feel the love of a horse.

There is something in the presence of a horse that words have never quite been able to hold. A rare union of strength and tenderness, power and grace—a quiet sensitivity that seems to understand more than we say. Around them, the world softens. Time slows. There is an ancient honesty in their eyes and a generosity in their spirit that continually draws me back, both as an artist and as a man. They have given me far more than I could ever hope to capture in my work. Horses are my sanctuary. They are where the noise falls away, where something in me becomes still, and where, somehow, I am always returned to myself.
