An unforgettable moment...🤩

Did you get to see MakerNurse, , at the 2021 ANCC National Magnet Conference in Atlanta?

Rose Hedges, DNP, RN spoke to fellow nurse leaders about how she and others create new health technology from the MakerHealth-powered generate Lab, as she represented Magnet facility, UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital on Nov. 13.

"Nurses need a safe place to experiment on their ideas to bring them to life." Rose Hedges

Rose and St. Luke's Hospital made that happen.

They installed a MakerHealth Create Lab in 2019. By July 2021, together we trained 285 people from 30 different health professions in prototyping skills and more than 2,600 devices had been made by these clinicians. Recently, 35 percent of projects in their medical Makerspace have been going into use in under a week at St. Luke's!

What's next? If you attended Magnet in person or virtually and would like to connect with Rose and the MakerHealth team, email us at [email protected] to schedule a time that works for you!

Nurses think holistically. They listen to you intently.
They are reliable and focus on caring for you as a person.

Because of all these reasons, nurses are also among the first to recognize how gaps in accessible medical supplies contribute to inequities in healthcare.
