And just like that, the motorcycle that carried me through loss and grief to lead me up the road to the joyful life I’ve found, belongs to a man named Levi.

Congratulations, Levi, you have a hell of a motorcycle.

The BMW RA Southern Alps Weekend hosted by Big Lynn Lodge in Little Switzerland, NC is complete and in the books. Over 50 riders from as far as California came to meet up, enjoy some rides, share a few laughs, listen to great music, and enjoy Southern hospitality at its best. We were treated to a presentation by Linda Doll Cluxton and Beth Lavinder about their adventures in motorcycling and meeting Kristján Gislason, who Is a prolific motorcyclist, photographer, and philanthropist. Music was by Bridget Gossett (please check her out on your music streaming services, soulful rock).

Yours truly emceed the events and told some jokes (some of which landed) and led a couple rides.

It’s always fun to see old friends and make new ones.

I had a great time at the BMW Southern Alps Weekend. As is always the case when you get a group of riders together; I rekindled friendships from the past and made some new ones…. Oh and we had a great time riding! Despite the Blue Ridge Parkway being closed near Little Switzerland, there were plenty of great roads open.

Living on a mountain, I have enjoyed a fun winter of motorcycle adventures….. brake pad changes, oil changes, chain tightening and lubing… can’t wait for the snow to melt and allow me to finally go for a ride. In the meantime, my tractor will suffice.
