After sustaining an ACL injury, Georgia Tech Football's Chad Alexander turned to Emory Healthcare for his care and recovery. At 17, Ayoki went up for a hit during a volleyball tournament and felt a pop as she landed. An MRI confirmed what she feared — a torn ACL. Referred to Emory Healthcare by a teammate’s family, she put her trust in the nationally ranked experts at Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center.
“Dr. John Xerogeanes understood my injury and how it affects my role as a middle blocker. I feel blessed to have my doctor and my physical therapist,” she says.
After ACL and meniscus surgery, Ayoki spent nine months rebuilding her strength and confidence. “During recovery, I realized how much I truly loved volleyball. I can’t wait to get back on the court.”
To celebrate her progress, she delivered the first serve at a LOVB match in Atlanta.

When pneumonia turned into a life-threatening diagnosis for Cliff, his world changed in an instant. What followed was more than surgery.
