M'boy is 12! A belated birthday cake for Elliott. He requested an Indiana Jones cookie cake. Specifically, raiders of the lost ark. I'm not sure if this is "specific" (my memory isn't so good), but it's certainly Indiana jones.

Buttercream + Georgia summer does not mix!
My favorite thing to bake is anything for people I love. And I love my friend Missy! Strawberry cuppycakes later today with strawberry buttercream. Yum!

Instead of just Metallica, this morphed into the fonts of more than one of his favorite bands. From top to bottom, can you guess what bands they are?
I cannot believe Elliott is about to turn 11. This kid is hilarious, sweet, intelligent and straight up bad ass. He loves music (specifically heavy metal, rock and Swedish death metal), so it only seems appropriate that I'm starting a Metallica-themed cake for him tonight.

Turns out, the circles on top of the Lego may be the hardest thing I've ever tried to frost. Love the little Lego men set up to hold the candles!

The base of the Lego cake. This 12x18 sheet cake will be split and stacked to make a 12x9 base. Crowd sourcing - what material makes the perfect sized circles on top? Remember there needs to be six of them on a normal rectangle Lego brick. Some suggestions already made: Oreos (too small), chips ahoy (possibly), cutting out smaller cake circles (possibly), moon pies (too big) cutting out circles of brownies (possibly).
GUYS. My little peanut is turning SIX this weekend! I've been busy planning out his very special lego cake. So excited to start baking it and share with you soon!
It's been a while since I've posted! I'm going back a few decades this weekend and am working on a surprise cake. Will post photos when complete!

happy 10th birthday, Elliott!!!
A certain favorite little boy is turning 10 soon. The request was very specific: a cookie cake with an 8-bit Link holding a triforce above his head with the bad guy Bellum's tentacles in the background coming around the side of the cake. Today I'm making this happen.

the finished product! two layers of raspberry cake with a later of almond pastry cream and raspberry sauce. topped with Swiss meringue almond buttercream (another first!) and extra pastry cream. can't wait to taste it!
