Honoring the legacy. Elevating the message. ✊🏾
This Malcolm X hoodie is more than fashion—it’s history, resistance, and pride stitched into every thread. As we celebrate Black History, we celebrate truth, strength, and self-determination.

This abandoned railroad that starts just outside of Atlanta, GA has been turned into the second largest paved biking and walking trail in the nation!

Silver Comet Trail starts in Smyrna, GA and travels 61.5 miles to the border of Alabama, where it becomes the Chief Ladiga Trail and goes 39.5 more miles onto Anniston, Alabama. Making the trail 100+ miles, bested only by a trail in Minnesota that’s about 112 miles long. These ‘rails to trails’ are an awesome idea and it’s a great way to get some exercise while enjoying some nature.

Here are the top 4 attractions you can find on the Silver Comet Trail.

Expect major crowd differences. #4 is typically very active and crowded, not quite East Atlanta Beltline crowds, but it can get close to that. And we walked 7+ miles near #1, #2, and #3 and only passed 5 people total! It was a rainy weekday, but still… that’s empty!

#1: Coots Lake Beach
Rockmart, GA. Private beach open since 1961 for swimming and recreation. $6 per person to swim, and has amenities like restrooms, diving area, picnic areas, and concessions.

#2: Brushy Mountain Tunnel
Built in 1912, heightened in the 1960s to accommodate higher freight cars. 800’ long, 3 stories high. Don’t forget to yell ‘HELLO’ in the tunnel. The acoustics are amazing.
Accessed by parking at the Silver Comet Entrance next door the beach, Coots Lake Trailhead. Free parking and has an outhouse (nasty!) and some trash cans. Walk approximately 2.5 miles east to reach the tunnel. Look to your right shortly after you start walking and you’ll spot a small cave otw.

#3: Pumpkinvine Trestle
Dallas, GA.
Built in 1901, 750’ long, 126’ high trestle bridge. Pretty unique to check out, but the views aren’t as amazing as you’d think. They built a housing development in the view. Accessed by parking at Rambo Trailhead and walking less than a mile east on the Silver Comet.

#4: Concord Road Trailhead, Smryna & Heritage Park, Mableton.
Park at Concord Road Trailhead for free. There’s bathrooms and a nice parking area. Walk 0.2 miles from the parking lot to the Silver Comet trail, take a right for an immediate old trestle and views of creek, take a left for a (continued in comments) 09/18/2025

Africa is at a crossroads. Leaders like Traoré symbolize a new era of defiance and self-determination. But to achieve true liberation, African countries must unite, reform internal governance, and renegotiate their place in the global economy.Hashtags
