Early Spring flowers and colors are doing their thing in the Zen Garden. Deep blue flowers reach high from the evergreen foliage of the Ajuga while across the walk the new foliage of the Dwarf Blueberry leaves contrast to Burgundy. Golden Thyme is waking up with new golden leaves just behind the Dwarf Blueberry.
A 1 -1/2 year old design and installation of a Zen garden for a client. Features dry garden areas, dry garden rake, moss mounds, plants, islands of boulders, pagoda and a pinched perspective style walk that creates an illusion of depth which leads to the stone bench.

The inspiration photo for this patio design was a $2,000+ bench with a fountain. The bench for this patio design cost less than $40 and included lighting whereas the inspiration photo had no lighting element. I also used creative containers - glass vases, metal trash cans from IKEA, etc.
