Grates block oxygen from flowing because of so much metal, making the fire harder to start and keep going. Andirons provide room for oxygen underneath creating a hotter and longer lasting fire.

This fireplace at pavilion is nothing short of a sanctuary. With the vintage andirons, custom fire screen, fire tools, canvas fire bucket, and fire bench, an already incredible space is officially ready for the first spark of the evening. There’s nothing quite like the warmth of a well-appointed hearth to make you want to stay a while.
We had a consistent issue come up with clients that their furniture was too far from the fire. So, a new product that we have introduced this year at Southern Andiron is the Fireside Bench. Perfect for when you want to sit closer to the fire to really feel the warmth from the hearth. So far, it has been a hit.
