Woke up at Og Lake to a stunning landscape covered in snow. We proceeded to take endless pictures and ate a leisurely breakfast, which left us caught off guard when the snow moved back in. (🤦♂️ rookie move) eventually got packed up and on the trail to Lake Magog. The wet snow made for a sloppy hike, but thanks to the right gear we all stayed dry and warm!

Assiniboine was really showing off during this section. It was our first time hiking through Larches which sorta blew our minds with their beauty and how soft they were 🤯. Then we skimmed past the lodge and made our way through a spectacular meadow for several miles where we didn’t see a soul. Felt very remote out there. Finally rolled into Og Lake where we were pleased to find easily the best site in Assiniboine and a contender for our favorite site ever.

The quintessential olive grove in Tuscany at golden hour. One of the most beautiful vistas I’ve seen in quite some time.

Loved waking the streets at night during our stay in Florence. The colors and culture really came alive after dark.

Sometimes I lose track of how fortunate I am to have so many opportunities to see the world. I certainly haven’t done a great job taking time to reflect on my travels 🤦♂️. But hoping to change that.
This is from a trip to Italy this past August with

I hate running with a phone but the light this morning was too good not to stop and snap a few pics. Love being on the streets before a city wakes up!
Stabilizers really got a work out running on centuries old cobblestone 💪

Haven’t shot for fun since last September and haven’t shot in the city in probably 2 years. Thanks for putting this morning’s shoot together!
Mornings like this make me love this city!

Got to watch the sun set on my 31st year and rise on my 32nd from the tallest fire tower in the Highland Range. (A kr_hawkins Top Pick!)
Laying on the floor last night looking out at the 360 degrees of uninterrupted stars was something I’ll never forget. Something else I won’t forget: how and I had to wear ALL of our clothes to bed to stay warm when the wind picked up and the temp plummeted. With only our noses poking out of the sleeping bags we tossed and turned during what was easily our longest night in the backcountry.
Thanks honey for always doing crazy hard things with me and for pushing the limits of our gear!

Sometimes you try for an hour to be original with your composition of a famous waterfall, give up and realize the best angle is the one everyone gets. This beauty doesn’t make you work to see her ‘good side’ which frustrated me a bit lol. 🤦♂️
What a great way to conclude our week in the mountains soaking in the fall color!

I usually hate staring hikes at 5:30pm, but the clearing clouds, low sun, and fluorescent aspens made for a spectacular climb up to Bierstadt Lake. Just perfection.
and I must have stopped every 20 feet to take in the beauty. 😅

Before and after: knowing how to use a camera to capture the image you ‘see’ is only half the work. The rest comes in the edit when you ‘develop’ the image, into what you saw.
