I've been working on this very special memorial totem over a few months. Installing it today in this gorgeous space for my dear friend to enjoy was deeply meaningful. 💚 I'm grateful.

I did something wacky last week - I threw, trimmed, & added handles to a set of mugs all in one day last Monday then bisque fired them the next day. I usually don't rush drying, but the clay & studio conditions just worked out.

For the contest we were tasked with filming 1 minute of us playing. This is Janis Wilson Hughes playing her original song Reflections on a RAV Vast B Rus. I spent a lot of time developing this melody after my mother passed away, and it brought me a lot of calmness and comfort. I think it's a happy yet contemplative song which is why I call it Reflections. This was created with cell phone video and audio. I'm so sorry I don't have any of my recording gear like microphones or cameras available right now to make a higher quality clip. My apologies about the grainy audio and video.

I wish everyone wellness and wellbeing, and I hope that my music brings you some enjoyment and inner peace. I play just for the joy of it. My RAVs have brought me a lot of happiness, comfort, and peace in difficult times. I'm grateful for these instruments and to be able to share the music of my heart with other people. A few days ago I dropped off lots of cool soap dishes at Raiford Gallery in Roswell, Georgia & The Art Box in Montecello, Georgia. These feature a raised spiral to help your soap dry out between washes & decorative glass melted in the grooves. Stay safe my friends, and wash your hands! 😉
