I'm excited about selling at the Decatur Makers Spring market tomorrow! Due to family obligations, I've had to scale back over the last year. Come out the Decatur Makers (605 W Ponce de Leon, Decatur) between 10-4 tomorrow, and get your early Mother's day and Father's day presents from local makers. I will have sun catcher kits available, if you would like to make your own decorations or presents.

It's time to start thinking about the Fall craft show season! To celebrate, I've added a sale at my Makerplace store. All items are 20% off through Labor Day.
Decatur Craft Supply | Storefront | Michaels Welcome to Decatur Craft Supply! I love learning new things and combining skills to make something new and unique. Small lights led to setting lights in resin and repurposing solar fixtures to use a variety of different lights. Selling pendant beads lead to making suncatchers. I love assembling kits...

Congratulations to Patricia P, the first quarter feedback challenge winner. I started giving away a light or sun catcher to one customer every quarter who takes time to leave feedback on an online purchase.
I'm getting ready for the last big craft show this year with a few new items. Recently, I've added 12" strings of mixed beads, including Ghana Krobo beads, stone & shell, hematite, and glass. One of the hardest beginner jewelry problems is building up a variety of beads. Now you can get a nice selection for a reasonable price!
Getting ready for the Decatur Makers Holiday Market this Saturday. Looks like the weather will cooperate this year.
I'm busy making the last items for this Saturday at Lilburn Daze!

I'm getting ready for Saturday's West Ponce Stroll sale with a new earring display. Hopefully, the badly needed rain will move out before then.
The peak eclipse coverage in Atlanta will be around 3:00 this afternoon. Here are a couple of safe ways to experience the eclipse safely without special glasses. Never look directly at the sun without APPROVED glasses! Many counterfeit glasses were sold online. It's also unsafe to point your camera directly at the sun without special filters. Here are a couple of easy and safe alternatives.
1) Lay a piece of aluminum foil (heavy duty is best) on a piece of cardboard and poke one or more small clean holes in the foil. Try a variety of hole sizes, but keep them all small. Cut a window in a piece of cardboard, and tape or glue the foil over the window to keep it flat and easy to handle without crinkling. Hold the foil over a piece of white paper and raise or lower the foil to adjust the focus of the image on the paper.
2) Don't want to work that hard? There's an easier alternative. Find a tree or bush that allows dappled sunlight. Place a piece of paper or cardboard on the ground and watch the light spots change to crescents as the moon's coverage increases.

Congratulations to Steven in MI for winning the 3rd quarter feedback challenge. In an effort to encourage online customers to leave feedback, I started this challenge at the beginning of the year. Each quarter, a customer who left me feedback on any online sales platform is selected at random to win either a handmade light or sun catcher of my choice.
