Painting is a very involved and invasive project. Some things to remember to help things go smoothly.
1 Plan a time when you have plenty of time to do the job. It may take you longer than you expected.
2 Protect where you don't want paint. This would include drop cloths, blue tape and moving anything that could be affected by paint splatter. It doesn't matter how careful you are, paint will find it's way where you don't want it!
3 Have wet rags available to immediately clean up splatters and spills
4 Buy a primer or a paint that has a primer included. Some wall colors are harder to cover than others.
5 Get a good cut in brush- the cheap ones don't work as well.
6 Be sure to remove all nails, picture hangers, outlet covers, switch covers, doorknobs etc. It's easier to remove them than have to try to clean them!
7 Patch and sand any sheetrock problems before beginning.
8 You may need to clean walls that are dusty or greasy or molded before painting. All these imperfections will resurface at a later date ruining your perfect paint job!
9 If this all sounds like too much, we can recommend some excellent professional painters.

To help your HVAC system you can use ceiling fans. Most ceiling fans have a small switch on the motor that reverses the fan. The blades rotate in one direction and pull air up and in the other direction push air down.

Clean your dryer vent. This will help your dryer function better and do the job it was made to do!

Sometimes it can be a little involved. First disconnect the power. Remove the hose from the dryer to the wall and clean it out. Go outside to the vent and clean it too. Then remove the filter and use a shop vac to clean out the trap. You may need a special attachment to reach the full length. This should be done at least yearly to prevent fires. If this seems a daunting task, call InTown Home Repair!
