The first year of the Stop Campus Hazing Act has ushered in a new era of transparency and accountability on college campuses nationwide. So what’s the early impact? In the first year of reporting, approximately 52% of U.S. colleges and universities published Campus Hazing Transparency Reports, creating a new baseline for understanding hazing on campuses and helping students and families make more informed decisions.

This progress means more conversations, more awareness, and more opportunities to prevent hazing before it happens. While there is still work to do, this is an important step toward creating campus communities where every student feels safe, supported, and valued.

This National Hazing Prevention week, we are committed to building a better future for our sisterhood and our campus communities. We encourage our sisters to take action on campus by taking a stand against hazing and educating others on the importance of hazing prevention. Throughout this week we will be posting more information on hazing prevention, so make sure to stay tuned.

On this we're celebrating the members of the Foundation Giving Circle! Last year the Foundation launched this new giving opportunity for our alumnae members under the age of 40 and the first year was filled with virtual and in-person events, the selection of grant-funded projects, a meet-up at our 175th Anniversary Grand Convention, and more. Just last month the Giving Circle launched its second year and was recognized with an award at a national conference for fraternal foundation professionals. Show some school spirit! This month, the are going back to the glory days of college football games and homecoming competitions. From the start, sisters have been enthusiastic supporters of their alma mater. (Several of these photos came from petition books of groups willing to become an ADPi chapter.) So this month, put on that old college sweatshirt and enjoy snaps of our spectators, twirlers, cheerleaders, band members, pageant queens, and maybe even a few football players.

Leah Fowler and Lara Brooks were proud to be Epsilon Pi sisters and cheerleaders at Georgia Southern in 1989.

Members of the Reveler football team, the sisters who would become Delta Beta chapter at Lamar in 1956.

In the fall of 1979, Gamma Theta chapter had four of the six cheerleaders and three of the six majorettes at Ashland College.

Gamma Chi sisters with the school’s mascot Superfrog (also a sister) at a football game in 1993.

Members of the local sorority that would become Beta Sigma chapter pose with their winning float from the 1936 Mercer Homecoming parade.

Marion Ettie, Gamma Delta-Miami, was crowned Orange Bowl Queen in 1953.

In 1964, many of the twirlers for Texas College of Arts and Industries (now Texas A&M Kingsville) were members of Alpha Sigma, the local sorority that became Epsilon Beta chapter the following year.

Two Clemson University featured twirlers, decades apart - Ansley Cartee Minor, Zeta Nu, and past International President Tammie Pinkston, Zeta Nu and Gamma Phi—East Tennessee, at a football game in 2016.

Deborah Whatley, Beta Omega, was the first woman named assistant drum major at Auburn University where she directed the band on the field during halftime.
