Working on some 5E D&D player cards for a house rule on sanity. I am building my own homebrew world and wanted an aspect of it to be horror based... ever a fan of H.P. Lovecraft and Eberron, I am mixing the two a bit and adding my own flavor. The sanity cards are not a new idea. You can find others who have created a set of their own. For me, I did not find anything that fit the way I wanted, so I am creating my own cards and rules.. based loosely on the published sanity rules from 5E SRD.

We had a fantastic time at Atlanta Comic Con 2018. We were able to meet Andrew Heath at his booth where he showed us his awesome new game that is on Kickstarter right now: Burger Battle found at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1353307241/burger-battle I am very excited about this one. It is well worth the price and I encourage everyone to take a look. This fast and fun game of burger building has you throwing down the fixens as fast as possible while trying to delay and hinder your friends. This is a fantastic social game.

One of the great aspects to CMON Expo are all the designers, artists, and other key figures in the gaming industry that gather together to have fun and play games. This year we were able to meet Kevin and Melissa from Tantrum House (http://www.tantrumhouse.com). Check out their site!!

Day two of CMON Expo 2018 introduced us to a new game that was still being playtested in beta format: Gizmos. This family friendly marble selection, tableau building game was an awesome balance between Roll for the Galaxy and Potion Explosion! The game should be out by GENCon! We met one of the designers of the game and had a good time playing, so much so that this will be an easy edition to the the family game collection.

We had a fantastic time at CMON Expo 2018 in Atlanta, GA. Played so many great new games. We were also joined by Zee Garcia from Dice Tower (https://facebook.com/dicetower/) while playing Council of 4. This was an excellent game of set collection and set manipulation.

Out and about at Augusta Toy and Comic Show this weekend (April 21, 2018) where we met Dewayne, the Founder and CEO of Grunt Games (www.grunt-Games-llc.com) and creator of his first card game: Lewt Ninja. Check out his site for more awesomeness!

During play testing, it seems the objective cards are too bland, possibly. So I am considering how to create more flavor to the card. Here are some side by side examples of consideration. What do you think? I may also work on some type of border, just not sure, as the black border you see on the cards is not in the print version... those are there to give me an idea of where the cut line is.

Working on some prototype play testing today... I noticed the rule cards are just too dark so I am adjusting the background to make them lighter and add contrast. I also updated the clarification for "Flipping" so that it does not require to flip the token with your thumb. I guess some flipping techniques do not use the thumb... guess that is why we play test.. haha!
