I must have felt your transitional presence over the past day. I have been feeling as though I’m grieving something…😞now I get it.
You were one of my many God sent Mentors over the years…reminding me of the call on my life and not to forget who I am. I will NEVER forget your impact on my life and that of the outstanding before there was even a website barely! The Saturday meetings with members of political parties reminded me of the responsibility we have to uphold the needs of the community. It is part if the reason my life has been dedicated to service.
I remember you agreeing to speak at the event I helped to host with the Black Cultural Center while I was at Loyola University Lake Shore Campus in the 90’s. The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration with the fantastic Mae Jemison in attendance. I remember the time you spent with me that day and how you helped me to find my voice. Both of you
I pray that you know even in the afterlife of how greatly you impacted me and hundreds of thousands of other people around the world. No person is perfect but the moments you gave me helped to perfect something in me. Recently, Pastor Lee Jenkins talked about the importance of not remaining silent and I was reminded once again of the gift of the few talks we’ve had.
May God be glorified and your family be comforted for the work you’ve done…through God, to others. Rest in Peace
