Many years of my Graphic Design career has been in Pre-Press. When you are submitting artwork to be printed there are 3 things to remember to ensure your files are printed the way they are designed.
1: When creating a vector file, outline or create curves on all your fonts used creating vector art. This is important since the printers might not have the fonts used and this might change the way the finished pice appear.
2: When creating a vector file, remember to "embed" all placed images. When the file is open in a vector program the images that are not embed will be missing.
3: When creating artwork for online application, use the RGB color space and when creating art that is to be printed, use the CMYK color space. This is important since there are colors in RGB color space that can not recreated in printed pieces and your printed piece will differ from the artwork submitted.
