The Georgia Department of Transportation has rescheduled a full weekend closure of part of I-285 on Atlanta’s west side from May 15 through 18.
State transportation officials said all northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 285 between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Cascade Road in Fulton County will now close beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, May 15. The closure is scheduled to remain in place until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18.
No traffic will be allowed through the affected stretch of highway during the closure, according to GDOT.

The Georgia Department of Public Health has been notified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that two individuals who disembarked the ship at the center of the hantavirus outbreak are being transported to Emory University’s Serious Communicable Diseases Unit.
