Late April road trip to the North Cascades. Unfortunately the rain kept me from seeing more of the beautiful scenery but what I did see was truly remarkable.

While driving through Washington State yesterday for the first time I over 22 years, Mt Rainier decided to peek out from the fog and clouds that basically enveloped the state yesterday. Not the best since I was driving but glad I got a view from “The Mountain” as it’s know here.

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Mid-Ohio Raceway just an hour north of Columbus, OH where I currently live. The day started out with questionable weather and after about an hour long lightning delay, the race got underway as it was still raining. I had a makeshift cover over my camera until the rain stopped, so that’s why there’s no pics from the raining portion of the race.
I was really happy how well my newest addition to my photography “tool” kit handled this assignment. I had recently purchased a previously owned Tamron 150-600mm super telephoto zoom lens and was itching to try it out. I think it worked flawlessly. I on the other hand have a little more to learn about it but happy with the results regardless.

Longhorn Caverns National Park located west of Austin, Texas in the famous “Hill Country”. I was very impressed with the caverns and was very fortunate to be in a tour group of only 3 people. More time for photos!
