It's a Quilting Bee!
Join us March 18th 10am-3pm for an old-fashioned quilting bee. We will be quilting a quilt in the museum for our 1853 era cabin. Everyone is welcome to participate. Come enjoy this time-honored tradition. $3 - $6. 770-443-7850.
Good morning, Quilt Lovers and Friends of Briny Bee. I've been meaning to share pix of some of the MANY quilts I've worked on lately, and especially some of the new designs I've quilted. But the fact is, especially with the holidays fast approaching, I can't seem to stop quilting long enough to do that. I'm thinking of you, though, and when all the Christmas gifts are quilted I'm going to have so much fun posting pix of them for you to see. In the meantime, just call me if you need anything. (Just got a new supply of Kona, Moda and other solids.)

Had so much fun turning my friend Marcia's vintage quilt top into a completed quilt. It needed borders on two sides, batting, quilting, and binding. Quilted it with a modified Baptist Fan pattern, much like the pattern that might have been used if it had been quilted when it was first pieced so many years ago.

My friend, Mary, completed her very first quilt and did a wonderful job. Isn't it pretty? She chose one of my favorite quilting patterns (called Ground Cover) and I quilted it for her. Here are pix of it just coming off the machine.

I was happy to make it to Vector Quilts' Open House on Saturday. They have so many beautiful machines: sewing machines, embroidery machines, and longarms. Plus supplies and tools for them all. They were super busy with the Open House and drawings, but all the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. Sewing Doc's repair shop has moved there, too. And last, but not least, Thread Bear Fabrics is right next door and they have LOTS of fabric. Such a great resource for area quilters. It's a short road trip from Powder Springs so go visit them at 515 Sawnee Corners Blvd. in Cu***ng, GA.

Completed my last quilt for 2019, and delivered it just in time for Christmas. This was one of a pair of vintage tops that I quilted with a traditional, Baptist Fan pattern. The customer gave the first one as a wedding gift, but decided to keep this one herself.
Do you have a quilt top that needs to be brought to life as a finished quilt? PM me for more info.
I always notice if a car in front of me has a bumper sticker about quilting. Probably the most common one I've seen is, "She who dies with the most fabric wins."
But I just saw a slogan I like better and that has the ring of truth to me: "She who dies with the most fabric didn't quilt fast enough."

Time out from quilts to make these two little books.
Fabric books are great for the littlest ones in the family. They can't make spitballs out of them, no matter how hard they try.
