I haven't been giving my FB page much attention these last few years. Between discouraging comments and very little engagement, I ended up putting more energy into my tiktok: and my Instagram: filthy.richeard.
But hey, new year, new me, new motivations for making an effort.
This was my performance from Monster Show for Monsters at Redlight Cafe in Atlanta. The show was "Oops, all Frankensteins" themed.

Storytelling through costume design is one of the skills I picked up from working in theatre. Changes don't have to be quick to be narratively effective. Stromae's Song "Papaoutai" is basically about growing up without a present father.
I lost my father to su*c*de when I was 12. Which left me to be raised within profoundly unsafe conditions by a woman who went on to disown me. Trauma shapes your life in unexpected ways. For me, the best way to deal with it has been to transmute memories of painful experiences into artistic expression. Performing is healing. It isn't always about the tips, or the crowd, sometimes it can just be about you up there on that stage. β€οΈβπ©Ή
This performance won me a booking at Flash in Toronto next Friday, APRIL 12th! This is the first time I've won the Spotlight slot at Flash and I could not be more stoked! Come out and support! Or perform! Or both! Flash's weekly Friday open stages are free and fun to attend! π₯ππ
