I went quiet for a while.
Life started life-ing. The kind where you’re technically still working, still delivering and showing up for clients… but the version of me that used to love posting here kind of checked out. I just didn’t have anything to say that felt worth your time.
I kept waiting to feel ready to have something polished to share, a big reveal, and I finally remembered that that’s not what I ever wanted to share in the first place.
Building out loud isn’t about having it figured out but about building Brand Binge in real time and letting you watch. The decisions and the pivots, the slow seasons, the things nobody talks about on their main feed. That’s what I started doing several months ago and then stopped. And that’s what I want to pick back up.
So here’s where we actually are: Second Helpings launched. The blog is live. I’ve been doing some of the less glamorous worker, running an agency, which doesn’t make for good content on its own, but makes the whole thing run. I’ve been sitting with some bigger questions about what this business is becoming, who it’s for, and what I want to build next. Confronting if I want to stay where I’m at, and who I serve or do I want to pivot, grow bigger ( my own definition of bigger not mega agency big), or niche completely.

First meme I’ve ever made and feels fitting given the last several months.
Sharing all this has resulted in the most DMs Ive ever gotten. We’re all going through it and sick of it. When I tell you to learn from my mistakes, and not put yourself in this situation...
Adding on to things no one tells you running a business: you will do beautiful work for people who will not pay you. And you will let it go on way too long because you’re a good person who gives grace.
Grace is good. But grace is not a business strategy.
I have several clients whose brand is on their website, their insta, their business cards, their photos are on the internet….work I did. Work that brings in revenue for them. And I am still waiting on the invoice. Months later. Some of them…years.
And for a long time I felt bad about chasing it. Like I was being difficult. I wasn’t being difficult. I was being a pushover.
Things will be different going forward like deposit amounts, payment dates and nothing going past 30 days. But learn from my mistake people.
Protect your work. Protect your time. Nobody else is going to do it for you.
Do as I say, not as I do. Zero content strategy until now. Building and fixing out loud so I can follow through and you can too. If that’s you, stick around.

2016 absolutely tried to take me out.
Started the year on my first Europe trip.
Found out I was pregnant.
Was traveling 2–3x a month for work + trade shows (gone a casual five weeks of the year for those)
Then….plot twist…we got acquired (again). Which meant the “someday I’ll do my own thing” dream suddenly became a real exit plan.
Then I had a baby and nothing was the same after that🫶🏼
My roommate jumped into real estate (which is wild considering he’s almost a decade deep now).
and I met randomly, decided to start a women’s networking venture in Atlanta, and somehow built something that was genuinely fulfilling and special for the season it existed.
Honorable mention: City taxes spiked, our mortgage jumped 50%, and we said ✌️ to the city and moved to the suburbs.
Oh and a dream I’d been sitting on for ten years? It finally happened.
2016 is a running joke in my friend group because it was so unnecessarily dramatic. So the fact that it’s now a trend feels…correct. 🤣
If we were part of your 2025 marketing budget, thank you thank you thank you. Forever grateful for every booking, referral, tag, and like. Thank you for letting me do what I love. And for those who book again and again, there’s no better compliment.
This year was a year of insane growth on a personal level for me. And for the first time in a very long time, I’m not ending the year saying “thank god that’s over.” That’s been the mindset for the last five years.
I’ve never felt more comfortable in my skin, more confident in my life and my work, and more excited for a year than this one.
And to my incredible team of freelancers, thank you as always. Couldn’t do it without you ❤️
