Last week on June 2nd, CCC had our first summer program with a wonderful event at the Toco Hill-Avis G. Williams Library with to celebrate of DeKalb County Libraries' Summer Reading Kickoff. Five incredible LDP volunteers helped over 100 kids build wind chimes and a "Dino Dig" where each child received a dinosaur and informational card.

When school lets out, many assume things slow down.

At CCC, the opposite is true.

This summer, 120+ teen volunteers will join forces with 4 community partners through 4 programs to support 550 children and families across Atlanta.

Our teen leaders will spend their summer building connections, creating meaningful experiences, and making a difference in the lives of others.

That’s what summer at CCC looks like.

On Friday, May 15, CCC celebrated our last festival of the spring with Woodward Elementary School. Over 400 people came out to celebrate the end of testing season with pizza, plants, popcorn, and a fun learning on pollination! Over 30 LDP teens ran the activities and made sure everyone had a blast. Special thanks to our Mitzvah Sponsor who brought an incredible planting and decorating activity. We are looking forward to carrying the impact into the summer!

And that’s a wrap on our spring semester! 🎉

Session 5 was the perfect way to close things out, learning all about inclusion and best practices for everyone. We connected it back to our outreach work by exploring different strategies to better meet the needs of the children attending our programs.

A HUGE thank you to Jenna Sommer for facilitating such an engaging workshop and sharing her expertise with our teens. It was such a meaningful way to end the semester!
