Postcards from today 💌. I’ve kind of treated Greece like the outfit you keep saving and never actually wear. Every year I kept glossing over Greece while we booked our Summer trip and saving it for… what, exactly???

The day we booked our flights here, I actually booked flights to Croatia first. My husband looked at me and asked why I kept picking other places when Greece is the one I’ve always talked about. And he was right. So, I canceled Croatia and booked Greece that same day.

Being here feels like a dream I’d been putting off for no real reason. And it’s made me realize how often we do that in life!! We wait, we delay, we hold off on things we know we want because we think there’s going to be a “right” time.

The truth is, there’s never a perfect time. I feel so happyyyy to be here, and am happy for the reminder that you’re allowed to want what you want in life and to actually go get it🫡.

My biggest pet peeve… when people say “a calorie is a calorie.”

Yes, calories matter. But your body isn’t a calculator!!! It’s a complex system with hormones, metabolism, gut bacteria, and satiety signals that respond to food very differently.

Example:
500 calories of Skittles = blood sugar spike, insulin surge, cravings an hour later.
500 calories of brisket + sweet potato = protein, fiber, nutrients, steady energy, and fullness.

Same calories. Completely different outcomes.

Food quality affects:
✨ Hormones (like insulin, cortisol, leptin)
✨ Satiety (whether you feel full or keep snacking)
✨ Gut health (microbiome loves fiber + whole foods)
✨ Inflammation + long-term resilience

This is why quality > calorie math.
