So....what goes into capturing a "Great Gatsby" wedding at the Swan House in Atlanta History Center? 1 day to scout, 4 locations, 4 camera operators to cover a venue that spans 33 acres, a 16-hour a day shoot; then, sorting through hours of footage for each camera, and weeks of editing. After all that is said and done.... totally WORTH IT! This post is long overdue but cheers to Kimmy Nguyen and Mikey He! Thank you for the opportunity and trusting us to capture your special day.

Miss Vietnamese Teen Pageant, 2016. This event passed already so just playing catch up here on posts. Yup, it's that time of year again for me, playing the "pageant Dad" for a brief moment. As always, working on no/low budget usually means I'm the cinematographer, gaffer, producer, writer, and editor with the reward of pizza and a pat on the back. The challenge for this particular project was time... less than one week to edit with a few hours to light and shoot about 22 contestants.

All in all, everything worked out. Special shoutout to Christina Dinh and Tina Do! Could not have made it without yalls.

Thao & Emil's Wedding, 2016. Southern hospitality, historic buildings, water fountains, and a cold glass of iced tea on a humid summer day... oh Savannah, it's nice to see you again. A few ideas went through my mind for this one, but I had one goal that I really wanted to try and master, to tell a story. I didn't want to make another highlight video because I feel there is more to a wedding than a montage of pretty images, that's what photographers are for, I kid, I kid! Maybe I'll keep this trend of wedding storytelling for future couples... what you do think?

Thao & P**c's Wedding, 2012. One of the last weddings we did before we got too busy working in the industry. In this highlight, I was going for a slower and timeless feel. I wanted the moments to take it's time and really sink in. Again, we didn't coach anyone, it's all "au naturale". You can really see it through this couple!

Luan + Thao's Wedding, 2011. My day started at 5AM and ended at midnight for these two love birds. Getting up early and staying late isn't an issue when you have passion and love doing what you're doing. It's hard to turn down fireworks in the early morning and poppin' confetti at night.

Thomas + Ngan's Wedding, 2011. I remember editing this wedding with the intention of being more intimate by incorporating a little more dialogue and natural moments. We're not a big fan of being up in YO FACE with a camera, or directing people around like we're on a movie set. Rather, we let moments happen as they are... natural and genuine, which also describes this beautiful couple.

Dream Production, concert promo. I got a call for a last minute gig to shoot a Vietnamese concert. They said just give us a short video to highlight the night. I was hesitant to accept at first since it wasn't my cup of tea, but someone told me there was going to be beautiful people there.... "say no more, I'll be there".

Pho Bac (Atlanta, GA), 30 second commercial spot. 2012. The restaurant just wanted something short and sweet to show a few popular dishes as well as introduce new entrees. The smoothies melting from the hot lights was a challenge, but I got to drink and eat the food which was a big plus!

P**c & Thao's Love Story. In 2012, this was an interesting collaboration that involved a lot of time and effort with the bride and groom to be. They wanted to share the story of how they met to guests at the wedding reception. This was to include a slick car meet and two full production days of commitment for just the shoot. We also managed to capture their official engagement proposal in the process. We all had a blast and would do this again anytime. Thank you for giving us the opportunity share your story!
