Windows 10 Installs Automatically On Windows 7 And Windows 8 Resistance is futile.
Here's a message to all of you over 40. If an Indian guy calls from "Microsoft" to tell you that your computer is messed up, it's a scam. Try asking him what his actual company name is, or a return phone number, or even his name. Refusing to let him in, he will get agitated and possibly call you dumb. In the case that you do let him in, he's going to lock down all of your files with a password so that you can't even get on your computer or retreive the data without paying $300-$400. Just an FYI. Oh, and I can fix this if it has happened to you or someone you know.
From now until 7/1 I will be offering $50 remote tune-ups. If your computer is acting funny, slow, or your dealing with pop-ups, this is a heck of a deal done on your schedule. :)

ALWAYS check the url when you get an update notification or are asked for a password. This is phishing. This is how your computer gets messed up.
For all of you Windows XP users, that update you're getting, just means you're not going to get any new windows updates. You're not being hacked, you're just fine, but you may want to think of upgrading your computer some time. You don't have to by any means, half of you probably have automatic updates turned off anyways and will be completely unaffected. I'm out of town until Monday, but if you need help when I get back, I would be glad to help you out.

...and this ladies and gentlemen is how you get a virus, or other unwanted software. Notice the JAVA update is not from java.com.
So... Some Indian dude just called my mom claiming to be with some Windows support company. They convinced her to allow them access to her computer, then offered to protect it for $199. She didn't pay them, but they still had access to her computer. Heads up guys, they are a scam. Welcome to bombard them. 1-888-462-7780
