Left to right mother, daughter, son, granddaughter. The mother’s photo was old and black and white. It’s challenging when the photo is not sharp or has a glare or anything, but I’m happy with it. I feel my people portraits are getting better over time. Not bad for self taught.

I do want to do more abstract. I also want to experiment with acrylic with oil on top. I have heard it really makes a difference. But it extends the curing time. Acrylic dries so fast that you are constantly remixing a color to match what you are working on.

I tried to have video of progress of this painting but my iphone camera was not cooperative. It will stop filming and you don’t know. Someone calls and it stops. Battery dies and it stops. I put it on silent to not interrupt me bc I’m best when I am in the “zone”. Maybe someday I can get a good camera for such things!!

Process:
Send several pictures of your ideas including backgrounds and description of the reason for the painting. I will work with you on designing the final painting and send you a mock up for approval.
Pictures of progress will be sent for any revisions.
Final approval of photo/video of portrait with then be signed, sealed with archival coating and shipped.

Turnaround time:
Expect as early as 3 weeks and as long as two months depending on level of difficulty, detail, likeness required, and longer if oil medium is used.

Pricing:
Deposit $50 non refundable to purchase supplies goes towards purchase.
Minimum: $300 for 20x16 or smaller for a headshot of person or pet or subject like a car.
$50 extra for detailed background
$50 extra if larger than 20x16 up to 30" Get quote for larger piece.
$50 for more than a headshot (more of body than head and shoulders)
$50 for an additional subject headshot
$100 for additional full body
*pricing additions are estimates and will require custom quote
Shipping will be quoted at time of shipping includes packing and shipping and will be at cost. Receipt will be sent.
