Happy Monday, it’s Commissioner Robert Patrick, and I'm proud to be endorsed by our Clerk of DeKalb County, Debra DeBerry. We recently worked together to learn more about the history of slavery in DeKalb County. By remembering our history, we are working to ensure that the mistakes of the past are not repeated in the future. Thank you, Clerk DeBerry, for enlightening me about our history and I look forward to continuing to work together.

Dear Concerned Citizen,

I regret that PDK Watch must withdraw its recent statement of support for Andy Yeoman’s campaign to become District 1 Commissioner. Our earlier incomplete research failed to identify Yeoman’s recent early morning DUI arrest on March 23, 2024, after his car struck and seriously injured a young woman. For details, see the Decaturish report from May 6 at: https://decaturish.com/2024/05/district-1-dekalb-commission-candidate-andy-yeoman-pleads-not-guilty-to-dui/. Despite Mr. Yeoman’s positive accomplishments and goals, we cannot condone such behavior by those who aspire to represent us in government. I am sending this PDK Watch retraction of support to everyone to whom I sent our previous email message.

This is just our view. Others may vote based on different considerations, including how well they feel a candidate would represent their concerns.
