Rickey Smiley Foundation is not one of those hats, but instead a mantel that I carry each day, to become a father to the fatherless, hope to the hopeless, and a voice to the voiceless. My Story: When I was 6 years old my father was killed, and although I grew up without my biological father, I had wonderful role models. My grandfather, and uncles became my father-figure and instilled values in me that has made me the man that I am today. I didn’t grow up in a wealthy family, in fact it was just the opposite. However; I had great examples who guided me along the way. The Rickey Smiley Foundation philosophy is simple: Lead by example…don’t just tell them that you love them, show them!
