Mother’s Day can bring many emotions and experiences to the surface.
For some, today feels joyful and connected.
For others, it may hold quieter or more unconventional forms of grief and loss.
Not all grief is recognized or fully understood.
Some heartbreaks are ongoing, complicated, and carried very quietly.
If today feels tender in any way, you are not alone. 🤍
Sending gentleness to anyone carrying visible or invisible grief today.
Self-trust is not built in big, life-changing decisions.
It is built in small, quiet moments.
When you notice:
that feels like a no
that feels like a yes
that feels like too much
and instead of overriding it…
you listen.
This is how your nervous system begins to learn:
you are safe with yourself
you will not abandon yourself
This is where real self-trust begins.
If this resonates, this is the kind of work we do in somatic sessions and inside Sanctuary 🤍
Tension is not always “just tight muscles.”
Sometimes the body is holding stress, overwhelm, grief, fear, vigilance, numbness, protection, or experiences that never had space to fully move through.
The mind, body, and spirit are not separate systems living apart from one another. They are deeply interconnected and constantly influencing each other.
This is why someone can suddenly feel emotion while receiving bodywork.
Why numbness can soften into sensation.
Why the body sometimes releases long-held tension in layers.
None of this has to conflict with faith.
The body was designed with incredible intelligence and communication systems. The nervous system, fascia, breath, emotion, biochemistry, electrical signaling, and human connection all influence how we feel physically and emotionally.
Sometimes healing begins simply by listening to the body instead of overriding it.
If this resonates, this is the kind of gentle, trauma-informed work we explore in sessions and inside Sanctuary.

Love leaves an imprint. 🤍
ocean air and slowing down ❤️
There is something powerful about walking into a space where you do not have to perform.
A space where your nervous system can soften.
Where you can slow down.
Notice yourself.
And stay connected without abandoning who you are.
Before Sanctuary each week, I prepare the room slowly and intentionally.
Tea.
Comfort.
Presence.
Authentic connection.
A place to land.
These small things matter more than people realize.
Healing often begins in spaces where the body finally feels safe enough to exhale.
Belonging does not always feel the way you expect.
It is not always confidence, ease, or certainty.
Sometimes it begins in very small ways.
Pausing before you automatically say yes.
Noticing what feels right or not right.
Letting your body take a breath instead of pushing through.
Staying present, even when connection still feels new.
Belonging is not a performance.
It is your nervous system learning you can stay connected without leaving yourself.
These small moments matter.
They are how your body begins to trust that it is safe to be here as you are.
If this resonates, this is the kind of work we do in sessions and inside Sanctuary.

Belonging is not something you earn.
Many people learned early on
that connection came from being easy
being liked
or not needing too much
So the nervous system adapted
by shaping itself around others
But that is not true belonging
True belonging happens when your body begins to learn
you can stay connected
without leaving yourself
without performing
without overriding what you feel
That is when something softens
That is when the nervous system settles
This is the deeper layer of somatic healing
not just regulation
but restoring your capacity to belong
as yourself
If this resonates, this is the kind of work we do in sessions and inside Sanctuary

Talking is not always processing.
You can understand your patterns
name your emotions
and tell your story clearly
and still feel stuck.
Because insight alone does not create change.
Your body has to be included in the process.
If your system never had the chance
to feel something safely
to complete a response
to come out of bracing
it will keep holding it
even if your mind understands it.
This is where somatic work is different.
It is not just about talking.
It is about helping your body actually process
so change can happen
not just insight.
If this resonates, this is the kind of work we do inside my 1:1 somatic sessions and inside Sanctuary.
You don’t have to keep carrying it alone.

Most people think regulation means calming down.
But your nervous system is also shaped by what you don’t say.
When you hold things in
your body holds it too.
Tension builds.
Breath shortens.
Your system stays braced.
Speaking what is true
even in small, simple ways
can begin to shift that.
Not perfectly.
Not all at once.
But enough for your body to learn:
it is safe to be expressed.
This is part of healing. 💛
If this resonates, this is the kind of work we do inside Sanctuary.
Emotions are meant to move.
But most of us were never taught how.
We learned to:
hold it together
push feelings down
tighten in the body
or move past them quickly
Not because anything is wrong with us
but because our nervous system didn’t feel safe enough to stay with what we were feeling.
Real healing doesn’t come from getting rid of emotions.
It comes from creating enough safety in the body
so feelings can rise, move, and pass
without overwhelming you.
This is the foundation of somatic healing
and nervous system work.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in your emotions
or like they build up and then spill over…
your body isn’t broken…
it just needs a different kind of support.
This is the work we do in 1:1 sessions and inside Sanctuary.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
