The mission of the Bookmobile is to increase literacy by increasing access to books and information. The Bookmobile began as an idea in September of 2016.

The South Bartow Community Needs Assessment, conducted by the Northwest Georgia Regional Public Health Office of Chronic Disease Prevention, had revealed numerous gaps in services and opportunities in the South Bartow area. These included library services, youth programs, family programs, and educational supports. The Bartow Bookmobile was conceived as a way to begin addressing some of these needs

This nationwide challenge is open to students in Kindergarten through 8th gradeโ€”and the goal is simple: read 12 books this summer!

Summer Reading Challenge This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of Americaโ€™s founding, we are excited to invite all children (K-8) to join in the Second Ladyโ€™s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts!

Last Friday was the perfect way to kick off summer ๐Ÿ“šโ˜€๏ธ

On the last day of school, we visited Cartersville Elementary and celebrated the classes with the top attendance that day by letting them pick out a book from the Bookmobile!

Nothing says โ€œhello, summerโ€ like a brand new book- hereโ€™s to long days, late bedtimes, and lots of summer reading adventures ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ’›

Hi friends! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ The Rotary Park (Fite St) and Clarence Benham Park (Jones St) Little Free Libraries ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“– are empty except for these flash card sets I just dropped off.
