Dear Friends in Christ,
Monday was a wonderful day of blessings at Emory Winship at St. Joseph’s. I was blessed to have Jan and our son, Jonathan, with me as we learned of our next steps. Some of you may not know that I have been working through a clear diagnosis of what type of lymphoma I have. Many of you have already joined us in prayers all along this journey and we cannot adequately express our deep thanks for every one lifted on our behalf.
Here are the highlights of where my journey is taking me right now.
▪ We now have a final diagnosis of Large B-Cell Lymphoma, DLBCL.
▪ I met with my own oncologist who is a leader in lymphoma cancer treatment for Emory Winship and has a fine team.
▪ Today I’m at Emory Winship Midtown having dual delivery ports implanted that will be used for something called Pola-R-CHP chemotherapy which will be administered during 6 sessions, one every 3 weeks to begin on May 6. Tomorrow I’m back for additional testing - nearing the end of all that comes before the actual treatments can begin.
▪ All the staff I’ve met throughout this diagnosis period - which began in February - have been wonderful and encouraging. The NP who I am working closely with is a person of prayer and she led us in a powerful prayer time before we finished Monday, trusting God for healing through this journey.
While this journey varies in how different people respond to it, there are three key priorities that I will keep my focus on as we go forward:
1) Life calling and purpose: To love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. To love neighbors as myself. To draw strength from the Holy Spirit and encourage others around me to come to know or walk more closely with Jesus each day. I will cherish time with Jan, our family, friends we have, and new friends who God will continue to provide. Continue to live relational evangelism. (Romans 15:13)
2) Eat healthy, continue to move & exercise consistently as possible, and pray for & with others as the Lord opens doors.
(I Corinthians 6:19-20)
3) Be thankful to the Lord and friends, cherish all the spiritual power that comes through many prayers, and further the joy of the Lord in sharing when and how I am able. (Consistent worship, lots of Zoom visits & teaching, early morning Bible Fellowship Net (daily via ham radio), and continued ministry coaching sessions online which always bring tremendous joys. (Psalm 95:1)
Together let’s continue to pray for one another, those who are all around us, our families, our friends and those God will place in our path each day. There are so many amazing opportunities for each of us to touch lives for Jesus and see Him make all things new.
In the Love, Grace and Joy of Jesus,
Jim

On Monday, a dear friend and former leader in the work of Proactive Ministries, Mr. Oma Parnell, made a final journey into the arms of our Heavenly Father. We will miss his powerful prayers and his gentle spirit, as well as his constant encouragement in all our years of ministry. Please join us in prayer for the family at this time.
Today, a key phrase often represented as Truth is: "I am enough." This is not what we find the Bible to proclaim. In and of ourselves we are NOT enough. We were created by God to experience God's love and enter into a saving relationship in which we can KNOW God who desires the very BEST of life for each of us. God gives us Divine Love, Grace, Forgiveness, Hope and the fullness of Joy through our relationship with God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Rather than pursuing pride and arrogance, "I am enough" - we are called to humble ourselves before God as we know this Biblical & spiritual truth - pride goes before a fall. Take a look:
Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18, NIV)
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. (Romans 12:3, NIV)
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9, NIV)
There is SO much teaching and leading today that is squarely against God's inspired word - and much of the culture and media are shoving it right at us 24/7. Let's pray without ceasing:
* God protect our children and youth today that they don't fall to what is being represented as good.
* God stir the hearts and minds of our leaders, lawmakers, and decision makers today to understand that speaking God's Scriptures in today's world is not condemnatory or hate speech. There are many reasons why the Bible is named, "Holy Bible" and not just another publication.
Let's go in God's love with the boldness of speaking the Truth in that love, while knowing the top name of our enemy is, "The Accuser."
Let's pray for the people of Ukraine. Let's also pray for the ending of the evil by Putin and his bullies.
Joyful and blessed Christmas from Proactive Ministries.

Facebook just reached out to Faith Leaders with this message! Several of you joined us for an online Gathering last week. We will plan another opportunity to unite.
Hi Proactive,
With the rise of the coronavirus (COVID-19), our priority is to connect you with the information you need to help your community continue practicing your faith together while promoting health and wellness. As a faith leader who is working to offer support to your members and congregants during this uncertain time, we want you to know how to best use Facebook to stay connected online.
I don’t know how the rest of you feel, but to me, it is truly miraculous! The note offered resources for communicating with “our people”! That includes you!
God is Great! And His mercy endures forever!
Blessings - Jan and Jim
