Sandy Springs moving on stormwater improvements on Falcon Chase Lane In 2021, Sandy Springs hired an engineering firm to develop plans for the removal of accumulated sediment and rehabilitate pipe at the stormwater pond at 5185 and 5200 Falcons Chase Lane. In a recent action, the city council approved a $357,852 contract with SCA Construction to complete the project.

Imagine the full force of a 1.5 million gallon pond being released all at once because of poor storm drainage installation! What you see here is an outlet control structure and ductile iron pipe. The control structure will manage the water level and outflow of the pond. The pipe will extend through the dam to the other side where the water will be slowly released. Careful planning and diligent ex*****on is needed to protect the people in the surrounding area.

SCA makes up 1/4 of the team that create a job well done. First the property owner/management company that needs the work done. Second, the engineering firm tasked with the designs and drawings. Third, any municipalities that have jurisdiction over the area or field of work. And lastly, SCA Construction getting the job done and helping the other three organizations achieve their desired outcome!

Plunge pools are an additional measure to ensure good water quality being drained from a retention pond. Simple in concept but very important as it relates to our drinking water and wildlife!

Strong families at home mean strong families at work. We make it a priority to stick to a 9 hour work day including breaks and lunch. A work/life balance isn’t common amongst our industry however we have seen that it not only lets employees know that we care but it has also boosted productivity and efficiency across the board!

One thing that we have learned during our journey is that the right tools make the job so much easier! Much better to to have the right machines the first time instead of trying to work around it. Everyone also has a chance to get some hands on experience and expand their talents!
