DAY 20 Lovie Dorothea Pope
The things we do for LOVE. Today, we will celebrate 20 years of Maggie Bell Pope's legacy of love and service to others. Update to be continued....
Day 16 & 17
We are incredibly grateful for the sock donations! The sock tradition continues 20 years later.
DAY 15 – The Power of Agape (repost)
I pivot in the storyline regarding transportation due to a conversation shared with me. Some years ago, I wrote that Grandmother did not discriminate in her love. No matter a person’s stature in life, whether a proud U.S. soldier boldly protecting our country or a prison inmate desperately in need of the love of forgiveness, she reached out to all whom God placed in her path.
Here are two perfect examples:
Today, the caller said that Grandmother wrote him a letter every Sunday after Church for 8 years while he was in prison. She never missed a week. He knew this because she addressed each letter with the date and time. Thank you for sharing your story today!
That reminded me of a letter Grandmother received from Iraq.
A soldier (family member) was serving in Iraq at the time. She wrote to Grandmother, ‘Where are you? You haven’t written back, and you always write to me." It was heartbreaking to update her.
That was 20 years ago, but please pause and say special prayers for those who serve in the military. The su***de rate increases during holidays.
