Your Core includes those often neglected glute/butt muscles. If you focus on activating them by squeezing when you rise from sitting and lowering yourself slowly enough so as not to plop, you'll get in a little workout without having to go to the gym and you'll also reduce the stress on your Knees and Lumbar spine.
Oh yeah, remember to tighten those abs, as well.

Build strength at home doing everyday activities.
Hip strength is Very important when it comes to improving balance and mobility. They play a significant role in core stability. Hip muscle weakness and tightness can affect the way you walk and in turn create undue stress in the hip, knee, ankle, and foot joints, as well as the low back and pelvis.

Cold muscles do not like to be pulled on. Imagine a rubber band that's been in the freezer and then immediately trying to use it. Not gonna go well. Muscles need oxygen to do what they do best and it's best accomplished with increased circulation/blood flow to these areas.. Warm up options include walking, jogging in place, jumping jacks, a hot/warm shower or bath, a heating pad(for specific areas), body/air squats, etc. FOCUS on movements that target the entire body.
Hydration is KEY! Our bodies are 70-80+% water. Give it what it needs. Remember: You are what you eat!
