👉🏽DELETING COLLECTIONS BEST PRACTICE:

A best practice I want y’all to remember with collections is ALWAYS always send a debt validation letter first.

Why?

The purpose of it is to pull their card and make them prove that you owe the debt or alleged obligation as defined per the FDCPA.

What can happen from that is sometimes that’s enough to get the deletion because they aren’t able to adequately prove that you owe the debt.

Good luck and keep applying pressure

1. Never dispute items online, always send in your letters because you are waiving your consumer rights if you don’t.

2. Get a secured credit card. For excellent utilization keep under 10%.

3. If you are currently renting, you can add your rent payments to your credit up to 2 years for a positive tradeline and to help you purchase a home.

4. Do not agree to pay your debt collectors. There is a statue of limitation before a debt is no longer considered to be “collectable”. If you agree to owning the debt, or Make a payment they can reset the debt clock and it can go back on your credit report.

5. Don’t have more than 2-3 inquiries on your credit. Inquiries are worth 10% but having too many will show you are credit desperate. Be careful!
