2022 Finance GOAL #7 done ✅ Yooooooooooo I did it! My first year investing in a retirement account as a self employed person !!!!!!!!! My first year working for myself I was paying off debt & decided to prioritize that. This year I told myself YOU HAVE TO DO THIS no matter what else is going on!
6k is a lot don’t get me wrong but the goal is to increase this number every year! It takes a lot of discipline to put this money aside when you constantly want to pour as much $$ as you can into your business ! 💪🏽

September has been a beautiful and busy, a beautifully busy month ! Since I was kind of crushing my 2021 finance goals I decided I had time to ADD TO IT 😆😁😂😃😫 Therefore I had to stop my daily finance posts to buckle down and get started on a project. I’m finishing this month on target and hopefully I’ll be back with some content by October 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

I budgeted for a birthday vacation this month but decided to use that money instead to get lasik!!!!!! This is my last photo taken in glasseeessssssss bye bye for now !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓 sooooooo much better than any vacay !!!!!!
Also, remember your budget is A GUIDE!!!!! You can make changes & adjustments at any time. Yes I budgeted for a vacay, but instead treated myself to something different once I changed my mind! That’s okay!! The important thing is to plan, save, and stay ready! 🌸💕🌸💐

But I set a goal for this summer to begin focusing on what “work life balance” looked like as someone who works for themself running a full time and part time business! We met each other 10 years ago go this weekend and decided to go to SF to celebrate! When I was 20 years old we used to drive up here every weekend for his internship. Sleeping in living room 😂 young, broke, but motivated lol. It’s so nice to come back and FEEL the fruits of our labor pouring over. 🍓🍇🍉🍑

Here are some ground rules when deciding if you should treat yourself to a new car AND finding a car that fits into your budget. We have to challenge ourselves to think greater than, “can I make the monthly payments” …. Most of us can hustle up 4,5,600 a month for a payment, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right decision for our future financial wellbeing. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2021 Update: Goal Number 7!
We originally wanted to purchase our second vehicle in cash, but decided to instead take advantage of Toyota’s 0% interest financing plan (only available to 750+ credit scores)! Some reasons we made the change:
💰Market: the used car market is inflated due to Covid
🌞 Timing: we wanted to get into a car faster. We have been sharing a car and wanted freedom to have our own cars for the summer 🤣🤣🤣
💵 0% Financing: this is a tricky one. I normally encourage my clients not to fall into this trap, however, it can be useful in SOME situations and should really be analyzed in a case by case and person by person scenarios.
PRICE: We purchased a car that was within our budget & UNDER OUR BUDGET.
💰💰💰What I am most proud of is that 1. We came to the decision together 2. We didn’t go get a luxury vehicle like most people our age. Why? All extra dollars are going to investments, not liabilities at this stage of the game 💚
