"The Awakening of Gen Z" - Documentary Film slated for release this summer

This film explores what God is doing in Gen Z today and how this generation is responding to Him. What developed it's roots at Asbury in 2023 has since spread across the country, and the youth today are coming to Christ in larger numbers than we have seen in years! This film aims to not only tell this story, but to also help train and equip the church to engage with what God is doing by being an active part of praying into, reaching out, and discipling Gen Z. It's not enough to watch God act, but to partner with Him and help with this harvest.

Gearing up for a weeklong trip tomorrow to Lynchburg, VA to film content for an upcoming documentary. Excited to finally finish this film as well as finishing a book aimed at helping those called into media missions have a pragmatic understanding of how to advance the kingdom with film!

This is a great time to finish the follow up and share what God is doing in Gen Z! Thankful to have been a witness to this. Thankful that I got to share some stories of what Jesus was doing!

Heading back to Asbury University again tomorrow! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted (Facebook reminded me). This past year has been quite busy with work-work, but I’m back on track with multiple projects that I am super excited to finish!

The return to Asbury is to begin wrapping up a reprise to the original film documenting the Asbury Outpouring. The original film had a college aged audience in mind from the viewpoint of gen z. I felt the Lord speak to me that it was to help empower other students to radically seek Him just as the students at Asbury University did.

This new film will have an audience of the church in general in mind - focusing first on what happened at Asbury, how it expanded outwards, and how the church can participate (and not be on the sidelines) for the fruit that comes from this spiritual awakening in generation z!

Looking forward to interviewing this week who can give us some insight into what the Lord is doing in the hearts of college kids!

Sojourner Films has documented a significant Outpouring, filmed a story of unity within the church body, helped launch Fantail Academy which is training and equipping media missionaries to tell stories of what Jesus is doing around the world, as well as making inroads to a feature length documentary film about going after the call that God has for every believer. I am even beginning to write a book to train and equip Kingdom filmmakers on how to produce their first testimony film! (this would pair nicely with the students going through Fantail Academy)

My wife and I have largely been supporting the work through these endeavors, but God has put it on my heart to not go about this alone any longer, but to share the vision of what He is doing through these programs with others who are looking for good ground to invest in Kingdom work.
