Day #7: 🌾🍚Whole Grains...
BENEFITS -

Is so, is it possible that feeding our body better might heal and prolong our lives?
This is what I do.
This is what I learned and experienced for myself… rid my body of excess inflammation with healthy nutrition.

14 Days of Better Food Choices for Nutrition and Weighloss-
Day #6: 🍠Sweet Potatoes...
BENEFITS -
1. White potatoes are a "nightshade" making them high on the inflammatory scale. Sweet potatoes surprisingly are not nightshade plants.
2. Although sweet potatoes contain a higher natural sugar content, they actually rate LOWER on the glycemic scale. Sweet potatoes are higher in fiber contributing to a slower digestion, also slowing the conversion of sugar in the digestive tract and reducing blood sugar spikes.
3. High in beta-carotene which the body converts to Vitamin A. Vit A is a highly beneficial antioxidant that protects cells from oxidative stress-causing diseases like cancer, etc.

Day #5: 🍏🍎Apples... choose varieties that lean toward the tart side as opposed to sweet like granny smith, braeburn, melrose or honeycrisp
*Note - over 50% of the nutritional benefits are in the skin... so make sure to EAT the skin.
BENEFITS -
1. Flavinoids contribute to better health of organs like the heart and brain
2. Apple skin contains pectin (a specific form of fiber) that is not broken down in the small intestine. Because it travels intact all the way to the colon, the results are slower digestion and help reducing acid reflux and diahrrea.
