QUALITY EDUCATION FOR ALL STUDENTS
Each student who earns a diploma has shown themselves deserving and worthy of the investment made by the school system, and in many ways represent the future of Rockdale County and surrounding communities. We must be diligent in seeking out ways to get the return on our investment by tracking these students, and providing incentives for them to reinvest in Rockdale County.

ENHANCED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR STUDENTS IN NEED
A concentrated effort must be made to accurately identify, diagnose, and provide strong treatment services for students who have moderate to significant mental health issues. “All students” in this category should be closely monitored, but not targeted or profiled.
Underdiagnosis, or the absence of a mental health diagnosis, cheats not only those students who may fall in this category, but makes it extremely difficult for educators to make best use of their time with the total student body.

SECURE CLASSROOMS
Students should be able to focus totally on academic achievement while in the classroom without distraction, fear of being bullied, or anxious feelings about the classroom environment. This can be achieved in part with additional monitors, smaller classes, and a frequent review of the total system in place for student security. What worked today may be outdated next month.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
A strong and consistent effort must be made to reach out to partners in the community who can be a resource to strengthening educational services in new and creative ways.
A strong and effective mentoring program should be available to all students made up of community volunteers, grandparents, clergy, and others with special skill sets.
