Hi, My name is Alexis Smith I am a Young Black Female Photographer.
I am a here to capture all your special moments because every moment is special and should be captured.
Every woman in these frames carries a story.
Strength. Softness. Healing. Becoming.
And behind every one of them is a history that made this moment possible.
Today we celebrate the beauty, the resilience, and the legacy of women everywhere.
Happy International Women’s Day. ✨
The Little Moments ✨
Somewhere above the clouds, the sunset reminded me that beautiful things still happen quietly.
They taught us about the past.
But what they didn’t say loud enough is this:
Black history didn’t end.
It evolved.
It’s not just something we study.
It’s something we live.
Black history is now.
Black history is you.
We are Black legacy.
Every step we take. Every dream we chase. Every story we tell. It adds to the timeline.
The courage. The creativity. The brilliance. The faith.
It’s in our bloodline and in our becoming.
You are not just learning history.
You are continuing it.
What we build today becomes someone else’s inspiration tomorrow.
This is more than a month.
This is movement. This is memory. This is us.
Walk like it. Create like it. Believe like it. ✊🏾
Storytelling +Trust ✨
Sometimes the location doesn’t look like much.
Sometimes it’s just a stairwell.
But here’s the thing…
When you have a photographer who understands light, angles, story, and vision, you don’t have to see it yet. You just have to trust it.
I don’t just show up with a camera.
I show up with imagination.
With intention.
With the confidence to say, watch me.
This is what happens when vision meets trust.
When style meets storytelling.
When creative energy matches on both sides.
If you’re building something, whether it’s your brand or your belief in yourself, don’t underestimate what’s possible.
Let’s create boldly. Let’s show up fully. ✨
Black beauty is timeless.
Strength in her gaze. Grace in her glow. Soft, strong, unapologetically radiant.
This isn’t a trend. It’s tradition. It’s resilience. It’s art. History in motion.
Behind the scenes ✨
Not every shoot happens on a “perfect” day.
But growth doesn’t wait for perfect.
Beauty is pushing through when you’re tired.
Confidence is showing up when you’re unsure.
Excellence is choosing to rise anyway.
Black history reminds me that resilience is in our DNA. We don’t crumble under pressure, we create under it.
Watch the results.
Behind the scenes
This is how it goes every time.
You will step in front of my camera a little unsure.
But, just remember I am your personal cheerleader behind the lens, reminding you who you are in real time. And somewhere between “okayyy” and “periodtttttttt,” you stop second-guessing and start owning it.
That moment when you see yourself the way I see you?
That’s the magic.
Chef’s kiss.

Black History Month.🤎
Who taught you to question the way God designed you?
Who taught you to shrink your voice, doubt your beauty, second guess your calling?
Who taught you to disconnect from your roots, your rhythm, your faith?
Because last time I checked, we were created on purpose. Our skin carries history. Our hair carries heritage. Our features carry legacy. And our spirit carries God.
Before you ask a man like Muhammad Ali if he hated anyone, ask yourself who shaped the lens you see yourself through. Who taught you what to love and what to reject? Who taught you to stop trusting the very God who formed you?
This month is more than reflection. It is reclamation.
Reclaiming our identity.
Reclaiming our confidence.
Reclaiming our faith.
You were never an accident. You are history. You are legacy. You are God’s intentional design.
Let that sit with you.

Black History Month.
Beauty was never the problem.
The narrative was.
Who taught us that our features needed fixing? That our melanin needed muting? That our confidence should come with conditions?
This is beauty.
Bold. Anointed. Unapologetic.
Skin kissed by light.
Faith stitched into style.
Legacy written all over her face.
We do not tone down what God designed with intention.
We wear it. We walk in it. We honor it.
Black is beautiful. Always has been. Always will be.
Throwback Tuesday
to a moment that reminded me why I do this.
Before the cameras, before the covers, before the applause, there was legacy.
Honoring Black history through storytelling, portraiture, and purpose.
Every cover was more than a photo, it was a testimony, a timeline, a reminder that we are history in motion.
Grateful for the opportunity to create alongside Derek and other amazing creatives as well and to honor the visionaries, the storytellers, and the ones who paved the way.
Black history is not just what we remember.
It’s what we continue to create.
This work still speaks.
This legacy still breathes.
Sometimes God will place someone on your heart out of nowhere.
Call them.
Check on them.
Pray for them.
Love them well.
Nothing God does is random. Every connection carries intention, every relationship holds purpose. Community is one of the ways God reminds us that we were never meant to walk this life alone.
Be obedient when He nudges you toward people. Steward the ones He has trusted you with. There is blessing in showing up for each other.
And remember, someone may be waiting on the very love, encouragement, or presence that only you can give.
Ecclesiastes 4:9
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.”
Keep walking in love. 🤍
