So, we are all guilty of doing this, but it can actually add more anxiety than you think.

The term “cyberchondria” describes the anxiety we experience as a result of excessive web searches about symptoms or diseases.

It’s not an official diagnosis, but is an obvious play on the word “hypochondria”, now known as health anxiety. It’s an obsessive worrying about health, online.

Cyberchondria is when searching is:

✅excessive: searching for too long, or too often.

✅difficult to control: you have difficulty controlling, stopping or preventing searching.

✅distressing: it causes a lot of distress, anxiety or fear.

✅impairing: it has an impact on your day-to-day life.

If this is you, no judgement or shame.
This is your reminder to seek a professional’s help to develop tools to deal with the anxiety and worry you’re feeling 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

This may be you or someone you know. Emotionally unavailable people are not cold,mean,unlovable… they’re wounded. They have been hurt and go into “survival mode” because they want to be protected. This is an unhealthy way to live because we are hard wired for connection. It doesn’t have to be this way.
