Please join us in congratulating our own Preston Sharpe on achieving his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation after an 18-month long journey culminating with successfully passing the CFP® exam in July on his first attempt. The CFP® mark is the most prestigious designation in the field of financial planning due to the high education and ethics standards set forth by the CFP® Board. This achievement serves to strengthen the multi-disciplinary approach to serving our clients at Derbend Asset Management.

We are here for you, with full capabilities to work remotely. Megan's son, Jameson, is our newest, cutest, and best-behaved colleague.

A little perspective from your team at Derbend Asset Management:

This morning, Derbend’s Founding Partner, Chip Beard, brought in two copies of The Wall Street Journal from the days following “Black Monday” in 1987 (a single-day 24% drop in the DOW compared to this Monday’s ~7% drop). Chip saved these copies for posterity and to remind him that when markets are down, clients need you the most. That philosophy guides us here at Derbend. Interestingly enough, our current President, Donald J. Trump – a real estate developer at the time – was quoted in the Journal.

History has shown us that investors are rewarded when they make rational decisions in the face of irrational markets.

What a privilege it was to spend an afternoon honoring the veterans in our community! Our Veteran’s Day Luncheon was spent hearing about the veteran program at Camp Southern Ground, which exists to help transitioning warriors transform struggle into fulfillment, growth, and productivity.
