Two years ago I was in Costa Rica.

I had lost a lot of weight… but something still wasn’t right.

My testosterone level came back at 248.

I had no energy.
No drive.
No edge.

So I got serious.

I got my blood drawn.
I sat down with Josh, Gary Brecka, and my functional medicine team at RMI.

We started fixing the problem at the root.

Today it’s a completely different story.

Now when I walk into the gym, I’m ready to attack the weights.

Energy is different.
Focus is different.
Capacity is different.

But here’s the bigger lesson.

Most entrepreneurs will spend hours building their business…
and zero time building themselves.

Your business will never outgrow the version of you that is leading it.

If your health is off…
your leadership will eventually suffer.

If your energy is low…
your decision making will suffer.

If you are not physically strong…
it will impact your mental and spiritual strength.

Taking care of yourself is not selfish.

It’s stewardship.

Faith.
Health.
Relationships.
Business.
Finances.

If the first three are broken, the last two will always struggle.

Inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico, this is the level of conversation we have.

Not just scaling businesses.

But becoming the strongest version of the leader God called you to be.

Connection is not optional.

Too many entrepreneurs are trying to win alone.

They isolate.
They hide.
They convince themselves they don’t need help.

But leadership was never designed to be a solo sport.

Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Real growth happens in relationships.

Not casual relationships.
Sharpening relationships.

The kind of relationships where someone can challenge you.
The kind where someone calls you higher.
The kind where you are willing to hear truth even when it hurts.

Here’s the reality most leaders don’t want to admit.

Your level of impact will always be limited by your tolerance for discomfort.

Growth requires friction.
Leadership requires correction.
Transformation requires honesty.

If you want real influence, you have to surround yourself with people who sharpen you.

And that means stepping out of isolation.

Thirty, sixty, ninety days from now your life can look completely different.

Six months from now you may not even recognize the version of yourself that exists today.

But it starts with getting in the right room.

That is what the Mastermind in Puerto Rico is about.

Real relationships.
Real accountability.
Real sharpening.

Most entrepreneurs are looking for clarity.

Clarity about their business.
Clarity about their next move.
Clarity about their calling.

But clarity does not start with strategy.

Clarity starts with ownership.

The moment you settle the question “Who do I belong to?” everything begins to change.

If you belong to Jesus, then the conversation shifts.

It’s no longer about what you want.
It’s about what He wants.

The Apostle Paul said it this way: “It is no longer I who live.”

That is the moment clarity begins.

Because once ownership is settled, decision-making becomes easier.

You stop asking:

What do I want to build?
What would make me the most money?
What would make me look successful?

Instead you start asking:

God, what do You want me to steward?

And here is the powerful part.

Ephesians 1 says the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside of you.

Think about that.

The same power that raised Christ is available to transform:

Your life.
Your marriage.
Your family.
Your leadership.
Your business.

Faith-based entrepreneurs are not just building companies.

They are carrying the power of God into the marketplace.

That is the level of leadership we focus on inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico.

Not just business growth.

Alignment.
Clarity.
Stewardship.

Most entrepreneurs measure success by revenue.

God measures it by stewardship.

A few years ago someone asked me a question that stopped me in my tracks:

“What’s your budget?”

At the time, I could tell you revenue numbers, speakers, and expenses.

But the deeper question behind it was this:

Are you actually stewarding what God entrusted to you, or are you just running fast?

That moment forced me to rethink how I lead.

Because one day every leader will stand before God and give an account for three things:

People – How did you lead the people entrusted to you?

Resources – How did you manage the money and opportunities you were given?

Calling – Did you fully step into what God asked you to build?

The problem is most entrepreneurs only focus on growth.

But growth without stewardship eventually collapses.

High-level leadership requires three shifts:

• From ownership to stewardship
• From ego to obedience
• From success to impact

You are not the owner.

You are the manager of something God entrusted to you.

Your business.
Your influence.
Your team.
Your finances.

None of it goes with you.

The real scoreboard is how well you stewarded it.

That’s the level of conversation we have inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico.

Not just scaling businesses.

But learning how to steward influence, leadership, and resources at a higher level.

God created us for connection.

He created us to be connected.

Genesis 2:18 says, “It is not good that man should be alone.”

Let me tell you something.

Loneliness is not failure.

It’s a warning sign.

There are CEOs sitting in rooms just like this all across the country.

Seven-figure. Eight-figure. Massive responsibility.

And they are lonely.

They keep grinding.
They keep producing.
They keep leading.

But they are isolated.

And isolation will quietly destroy what success built.

I get emotional when I look at a room full of leaders because I know what transformation looks like.

I know what the last five and a half years have done in my own life.

The men and women who have helped me grow in health, faith, and leadership were not random.

They were intentional relationships.

The people on that health panel.
The leaders on that stage.
The conversations behind the scenes.

That’s connection.

That’s growth.

That’s why I am so passionate about what we’re building.

Because loneliness is not weakness.

It’s a signal that you were never meant to carry this alone.

If you are leading at a high level but feel isolated at the top, that is not a sign to quit.

It’s a sign to get in the right room.

The Mastermind in Puerto Rico is built for leaders who are done pretending they can do this alone.

Smaller room.
Real relationships.
Real accountability.
Real connection.

I may not see it in the natural yet.

But I can see it in the supernatural.

I can see it in my heart.

There is a vision.

Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

But where there is vision, people flourish.

Your team needs your vision.

Your family needs your clarity.

Men, your wife needs your clarity.
Your kids need your clarity.

Your children need to see you trusting God in such a way that they say, “My dad is believing God for something bigger.”

They need to see faith in action.

Last year at the end of the conference, my daughter sent me a text.

She said, “Dad, now I know what I want to do with my life. I want to get on stage and help people just like you.”

She was 16 years old.

That was my favorite moment of the entire year.

Not the speakers.
Not the business wins.
Not the revenue.

That moment.

Because she didn’t just hear me talk about faith.

She saw it.

Your kids don’t follow what you say.

They follow what you model.

If you want your family to flourish, you have to get clear on the vision God has put in your heart.

That’s the level of clarity and conviction we work on inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico.

Smaller room.
Higher standard.
Clearer vision.

When Jesus and His disciples were leaving Jericho, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus was sitting on the side of the road.

He heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

And he started shouting.

“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.”

The crowd told him to be quiet.

They said, “Shhh. Stop. Don’t make a scene.”

But when you’re desperate, you don’t care what the crowd thinks.

The crowd looked at him and basically said, “You’re blind. What do you expect?”

But he shouted louder.

“Son of David, have mercy on me.”

And when Jesus heard him, He stopped.

That’s the part that gets me.

He stopped.

What are you going to say to Jesus that makes Him stop?

What is in your heart right now that you’ve been too quiet about?

Because the crowd will always try to silence you.

They’ll tell you it’s unrealistic.
They’ll tell you God doesn’t move like that anymore.
They’ll tell you to tone it down.

But desperation gets Heaven’s attention.

Jesus looked at Bartimaeus and asked him a powerful question:

“What do you want me to do for you?”

He didn’t assume.
He didn’t guess.
He made him say it.

So let me ask you the same thing.

What do you want Jesus to do for you?

Not vague.
Not general.
Specific.

Clarity activates faith.

Inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico, this is the work we do.

We get clear.
We get specific.
We stop letting the crowd define what’s possible.

How do you live your life in a way that guarantees you hear “Well done”?

It’s simple.

Obedience.

When God speaks, do you obey?

And not just eventually.

Immediately.

Delayed obedience is still disobedience.

As faith-based entrepreneurs, we’ve gotten this backwards.

We think it’s our job to grow the business.

It’s not.

It’s your responsibility to be obedient.
It’s God’s responsibility to grow what you’re obedient over.

That changes everything.

Because now the pressure shifts.

It’s no longer about forcing revenue.
It’s no longer about manipulating outcomes.
It’s no longer about grinding harder than everyone else.

It becomes about stewardship.

How do I steward my team?
How do I steward my marriage?
How do I steward my health?
How do I steward the finances God has entrusted to me?

Stewardship does not imply ownership.

You’re not taking any of this with you.

Not the company.
Not the title.
Not the money.

God put you here to manage what belongs to Him.

And when you see yourself as a steward instead of an owner, clarity increases and pressure decreases.

That’s the level of leadership we work on inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico.

Not hype.
Not surface-level motivation.

Obedience.
Stewardship.
Alignment.

How many of you know what it feels like when your parents speak life into you?

The word encouragement literally means to add courage to.

When someone encourages you, they are depositing courage into your spirit.

I’ll never forget my last high school football game in Michigan before I moved back to Georgia. I went to twelve schools in twelve years. Six different high schools.

That last game at Oxford High School, I had a sack. I had a safety. We won big.

My dad was in the stands.

After the game, he was so fired up. He looked at me and said, “Son, I’m so proud of you.”

I still remember that moment.

Even today, if you ever see James L. Johnson commenting on my posts, that’s my dad. No profile picture. Just “Way to go, son.”

And it still does something to me.

Because when a father speaks affirmation over you, it adds courage.

Every single one of us as Christ followers should be living for one moment.

One audience.

One affirmation.

When we stand before God and hear two words:

Well done.

That’s the goal.

Not more applause.
Not more followers.
Not more revenue.

Well done.

The question is, are you living in a way that earns that?

That requires clarity.
That requires alignment.
That requires courage.

And courage grows in the right environment.

If you’re serious about becoming the kind of leader who hears “Well done” one day, then you need to get in rooms that sharpen you, stretch you, and challenge you.

That’s what we’re doing in Puerto Rico.

As a leader, you’re not sharpening yourself just for you.

You’re doing it so you can go home first…
and then back to your business…
and give your family and your team clarity.

One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 29:18:

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

I like to call it the Ken J Version:

“Where there is vision, people flourish.”

Your wife flourishes when you’re clear.
Your kids flourish when you’re clear.
Your team flourishes when you’re clear.

But clarity doesn’t come until something else is settled first.

The ownership issue.

God, I don’t belong to myself.
I was bought with a price.
Whatever You have for me, I submit. I surrender.

When that ownership issue is settled, clarity begins to show up.

Because now it’s not about ego.
It’s not about status.
It’s not about proving something.

It’s about obedience.

And when a leader is obedient and clear, everyone around them benefits.

That is exactly the work we do inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico.

This is not surface-level motivation.
This is not hype.

This is clarity work.
Vision work.
Ownership work.

Scripture tells us that we are made in the image of God.

That means something.

It means you are a mirror.
It means you are a reflector of the character and nature of God to your family.

Let that settle in.

If you’re lazy, your kids see it.
If you choose poor nutrition, they see it.
If you don’t guard what you watch or listen to, they see it.
If you’re not feeding yourself to become the best version of yourself spiritually, mentally, and physically, they see it.

You are reflecting something every single day.

Men, your kids are watching how you treat their mother.
They’re watching how you love her.
They’re watching how you lead her.

Wives, your kids are watching how you respect their father.
They’re watching how you honor him when it’s easy and when it’s hard.

You are preaching a sermon every day without opening your mouth.

The question is not whether they are watching.

The question is what they are seeing.

If we truly reflect the character and nature of God, then our homes should look different. Our marriages should look different. Our leadership should look different.

That is why sharpening matters.

That is why doing the internal work matters.

That is why proximity matters.

If you are serious about becoming the kind of leader your family can follow with confidence, then you need to get in a room where you are challenged, sharpened, and held accountable.

That is exactly what happens inside the Mastermind in Puerto Rico.

Because legacy is not built by what you say.

It’s built by what you model.

02/20/2026

One of my favorite quotes is from Abraham Lincoln.

He said, “If you gave me six hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend the first four hours sharpening the axe.”

Let that sink in.

Most entrepreneurs are swinging a dull axe.

They’re grinding.
They’re hustling.
They’re building.

But they’re not sharpening.

I call it oxygen mask syndrome.

If you’ve ever flown on a plane, you’ve heard the flight attendant say, “In the event of a loss of cabin pressure, put your oxygen mask on first before assisting others.”

Why?

Because if you pass out, you’re no good to anyone.

The pressure will literally suck the air out of your lungs. You can’t breathe. You can’t function. You can’t help your kids, your spouse, or anyone sitting next to you.

It’s the same in business.

If you neglect your faith, your health, or your relationships, you will never be able to properly take care of your business or your finances.

After Jesus, you owe you.

I owe Jesus everything. I was bought with a price.

But after Him, I owe it to myself to become the sharpest, strongest, healthiest version of me possible.

Because if I’m not sharp, I can’t lead well.
If I’m not healthy, I can’t serve well.
If I’m not grounded spiritually, I can’t steward well.

To be the best husband, father, leader, and business owner God’s called me to be, I have to take care of myself.

Sharpen the axe.
Put the oxygen mask on.
Do the work.

If you’re serious about becoming the sharpest version of yourself in faith, health, relationships, business, and finances, you need to get in the right room.

Create Conference is where you get aligned.

The Mastermind in Puerto Rico is where you get sharpened.
