Meg: I almost hit a cow last night when I was driving by the farm down the street.

PJ: And was this cow with a chicken?

Meg: No, the chicken hadn't shown up yet. I must've gotten there just before the punchline.

"I think I still have bubblegum up my nose."

The following is an actual conversation. . .

Mum: Have you been drinking adult beverages?

Meg: Umm. . . no.

Mum: Oh. You just sound. . . happy.

The moral of this story is that if Meg sounds happy, she must be drunk. Mum said so, so it must be true.

Meg: I'm taking this lamp up to my bedroom.

PJ: Oh?

Meg: Yeah, I need it. It has a swivel head.

PJ: Ah, remember swivel head...?

Meg: I have a vague recollection.

PJ: And will your lamp be spending the night in your room?

Meg: Jeez... What kind of lamp do you think this is?!
