Well, this is it… the last of the 2026 foals. But most significantly, the last of the foals to enter the gates of LCC! This has been such a bittersweet season, but we have no doubt that Focus will carry on the mission Victoria started 40 some years ago (we aren’t going to give away ages or anything!)

If you haven’t already, head over to FOCUS Rescue & Rehabilitation, like their page and follow along to see the journey of the foals you have all come here to see over the years.

🎵 Happy trails to you….

Victoria needs a horse. She writes:

"I was forced to say 'good night and goodbye' to my old Appy a few weeks back. I miss him.

We are nearing the end of this seasons babies, and the last babies to come through our gates at Last Chance Corral. So, if you’ve been on the fence about adopting NOW is the time to get those applications in!

Remember: you need to apply through FOCUS Rescue & Rehabilitation to adopt!!
If you have been approved through us at LCC in the past, you still need to apply through Focus.

Step 1. Make sure you are qualified for adopting.
Step 2. Talk to whoever you need to talk to, get permission from whoever you need it from.
Step 3. Complete application process: online application, submit required photos, submit vet and farrier letters of recommendation.

Liquid in, liquid out… and these little babies will drink and soak a bag of bedding in a hurry!
Can our supporters help Focus get some of this expense covered so they can “focus” on providing the very best for our babies? And If you haven’t yet, go on over to their page, FOCUS Rescue & Rehabilitation, and hit that like button.

FOCUS Rescue & Rehabilitation not only shares our own philosophy on adoption requirements, they truly believe in their mission and are dedicated to their commitment of each and every foal.

Sometimes money and the want for something is simply not enough. We are grateful that Focus takes the time to ask questions to establish the intent of potential adopters. There is no rush to simply collect a fee and move the foals along right away.

We receive many messages that question our adoption requirements/protocols/process. Hopefully, we can lend some insight on how and why we do things differently than others might.

Every orphaned foal that comes into our care is more than just a rescue — it’s a life that deserves the very best chance at a healthy future. That’s why our adoption process is intentionally thoughtful and thorough.

Each baby is evaluated by a veterinarian upon intake to assess their overall health and immediate needs. We take the time to ensure every foal is stable, strong, and successfully drinking on their own before even considering them available for adoption.

We know it can be hard to wait, especially when these little ones capture hearts so quickly. But our priority will always be their well-being — not rushing them out the door. Proper care in those critical early days makes all the difference in their growth, development, and long-term success. Especially when considering long distance hauling to their forever homes.

Our goal isn’t just to place foals — it’s to give them the healthiest possible start and match them with adopters who are ready for the responsibility ahead.
Thank you for understanding, supporting, and helping us put these babies first. 💛
